Theoretical/Practical Course Program

• The focus of this course is on the longissimus muscle, the deep muscle responsible for maintaining an upright posture. We will study and explore its fundamental mechanics:

• Its bilateral contraction, which contributes to the extension of the spine, neck and head.
• Its unilateral contraction aids lateral flexion and ipsilateral rotation of the spine, neck and head.

To work on these delicate structures, the Braña Practitioner will use their distinctive tools: white cotton gloves and the unmistakable Braña glass rods. The latter are an essential tool for sending the correct rebalancing signals to the central nervous system.

• Theoretical Foundations: An introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the central and peripheral nervous systems, which form the basis of the Braña Method.
• Personalised Assessment: You will learn how to assess stress-related issues for preventive purposes, understanding how to tailor a treatment plan specifically to the client’s actual postural needs.
• Practice and Technique: General relaxation to relieve everyday tension, practical demonstrations of centred breathing, and specific exercises.
• The Working Method: Learning treatment techniques that combine the use of small sticks, a unique approach to muscle and joint manipulation, and the application of Chemeia phytocomplexes.
• Hands-on experience: An individual afternoon session to practise the techniques on yourself and understand their immediate and long-term effects (24–48 h The second day will be devoted to reviewing what has been covered, clarifying any doubts and giving ample time to practical training and discussion.
• Independence: Before we say our final goodbyes, we’ll carry out a short individual test to help you become fully independent.

Recommended text: Anatomy and Physiology ed. Ambrosiana – authors Thibodeau and Patton or similar.

Bring no. 2 pairs of white cotton gloves for practice, a notebook and pen, an eyeliner or lip pencil; comfortable clothing is required.

Before the end of the two-day course, an individual assessment using the Braña Method will be conducted to evaluate each student’s conceptual understanding of the course material, followed by a discussion between the tutors and students.

Materials included in the course fee: Two Braña glass rods will be collected from the studio, and the course materials will be sent digitally by 30 September.

The glass rods, cotton gloves and any Chémeìa products are not included in the course fee.
